How the game reads a stroke

  • Each rune is one stroke: lifting the stylus ends it. Size and position on the screen don’t matter.
  • The stroke keeps its proportions: a squashed rune scores less.
  • Rotation is not forgiven: about 30° off is already at the limit.
  • Direction matters: each rune is accepted only from the starting points and directions it has templates for.
  • A rune counts from a 70 % match. If the runes of a spell average 85 % or more, its power and its chance to cause statuses go from ×0.70–0.85 to ×1.35–1.50.

Runes per spell

Isaac starts with one rune per spell. He can chain two from «Battle 004 (ch. 2)» / «Battle 005 (ch. 2)» and three from «Town 013 (ch. 5)».

MP of each rune

A spell costs the sum of its runes. The first rune costs less than the second and third, and every rune gets cheaper as Isaac’s level in its element rises.
